Hasn't pooped in over 30 hours!

The last time my little guy pooped was yesterday around 10:30am. It was a HUGE explosive poop. He is usually a 4-6 day pooper and one of those poops, usually the first one of the day, being a blowout. But he hasn't pooped since yesterday morning! He is perfectly happy, doesn't seem upset. He's had tons of wet diapers, and he's eating just as much as he normally does. No fever, no runny nose, no cough. I'm really confused! I know some babies here poop once a week or once a day, but my little guy loves to poop! He usually laughs, poops, and then laughs immediately after. Could not pooping be a sign of something? Am I really just worried over nothing?

Yes, you are worried over nothing. If he doesn't poop in a week then call the doctor. What is important is how he is acting and it sounds like he is a happy little guy. I know it is hard not to worry. Hazel and Violet are both very constipated kids, I'm used to it. It might have been something you ate :dunno:

Hmm, he has a mushy tummy.

The only thing out of the ordinary I ate was cinnamon rolls.

My luck he'll probably poop in 5 minutes! Lol

if your really worried about it. just keep checking the tummy. if its mushy then there is no block (which is the danger from not pooping)

Maisie does this sometimes- she will go over a day w/o poo and then- wow.

Kinda the same stuff we did in class. The I L U (I say "I" "Love" "you" when we made the motions- so it's the "I love you" massage. And the circles - I sing hickory dickory dock. to it. Make sure you go clockwise. the other way keeps it in- you want it out.

Heya Rachel...my breastfeeding books say FF babies should poop daily but that breastfeeding babies can go a whole week without pooping and it is totally normal because they absorb ALL the nutrients in the breastmilk so there is less to ummm expel.

Thats GREAT to know!! I feel a lot better! He FINALLY pooped right before bedtime. I thought it'd be this huge blowout, but it was just a regular poopy diaper. Never thought I'd be so happy to see poop LOL!

Maxie only poops every 4-7 days in case Ethan scares you again!

Emma only poops about once every 5-7 days her doc said its normal for a EBF baby to do that, some do and some don't But i'm glad he went so you don't have to worry anymore.

Thats crazy that some of you only get poopy diapers once or twice a week. Wow I couldn't even imagine that. Are the diapers huge blowouts?

Calling them huge would be an understatement.

Some times when Emma hasn't went for a almost a week its quite a bit but never a blowout lol. She will usually go then go again in a couple hours then not for another 5 days or so. It is nice lol.
